The Freetown Historical Society was founded in 1969 by a group of citizens who felt the need to preserve and protect the history of Freetown and the surrounding communities. Our mission continues to be the preservation of our local heritage.

Since that time, the museum has grown from the original building to include ten buildings and over 11 acres.

This growth has been made possible by

  • Generous donors who have given us artifacts and financial support
  • The Grimshaw-Gudewicz Charitable Foundation
  • Our dedicated volunteers
