The purpose of the society is to promote the study of local history and to preserve the antiquities of Scituate and those municipalities that were anciently a part of our town. Our membership is open to all.

Mission: The Scituate Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of local historical sites and the education of young and old alike.
Founded: Founded September 2, 1916; Incorporated August, 1917
