The Society, founded in 1886, is a non-profit group of men and women dedicated to enjoying and sharing the history and traditions of Malden. We do this through meetings, publications, social events, exhibits, acquisitons and mainting collections of documents and artifacts pertaining to Malden, its people, organizations, businesses, and institutions.
The Manchester Historical Society was founded in 1886 “ to serve the entire community through the preservation of irreplaceable town records and artifacts, its research capability and commitment to education.“ The Manchester Historical Society moved into its headquarters, the Trask House, in 1925.
The Marblehead Museum Archives are housed with the Museum Offices at 170 Washington Street. Available to scholars and researchers, the well-catalogued Archives are a treasure house of personal papers, books, journals, genealogical materials and over 20,000 photographs.
