The Society, founded in 1886, is a non-profit group of men and women dedicated to enjoying and sharing the history and traditions of Malden. We do this through meetings, publications, social events, exhibits, acquisitons and mainting collections of documents and artifacts pertaining to Malden, its people, organizations, businesses, and institutions.

Directions The Society's collection and office is housed in the Converse Building of the Malden Public Library and is open by appointment only. If you have questions or would like to discuss a donation of items related to Malden's history or one of her families, call us at the numbers to the left or for a quicker response send us an email at info@maldenhistoricalsociety.org.
Mission: We are an organization in Malden that gets involved in our neighborhood. Volunteers from all walks of life have come together to jointly improve our neighborhood. The main goal of Maiden Historical Society is to create a sense of community in the neighborhoods where people live and work. We hope that an increased sense of community will lead to more personal involvement and more cultural, educational and social activities, which will create a better community and a better place for us to live.

Collection overview: The Society has been actively collecting, preserving and cataloging books, papers, photographs, negatives, manufactured goods, postcards and more. The goal is to create a respository of all things Malden. Contact us if you would like to help or have an item you think we might want for our collection.
Membership: Membership in the Society carries several rights and benefits with a few listed below.. 1. You are able to attend programs and activities throughout the year. 2. You are invited to private openings of the Society's exhibits. 3. Eligibility to attend workshops and events conducted by similar groups. 4. Volunteer opportunites 5. Access to the Historical Society Room in the Malden Public Library The cost of membership is currently a reseaonable $10.00 a year.
