Scope and Content: The adjutant general of the Commonwealth, as executive administrator of the state’s Military Establishment, is responsible for coordinating information and directives both within the Military Establishment and between it and other jurisdictions. This series indexes naval correspondence received by the Adjutant General’s Office. Most of the correspondence originated with the federal Bureau of Navigation, Navy Dept., or fourth auditor of the Treasury.
