Scope and Content: The Board of Cattle Commissioners, established in 1862, was replaced successively by the Cattle Bureau (State Board of Agriculture) in 1902, the Department of Animal Industry in 1912, the Division of Animal Industry (Dept. of Conservation) in 1919 and the Division of Livestock Disease Control (Dept. of Agriculture) in 1934.  It was renamed the Division of Animal Health in 1967 (Dept. of Food and Agriculture from 1975).
