Scope and Content: Pursuant to St 1875, c 160, the state treasurer was authorized to issue scrip or certificates of debt to meet expenses incurred during construction of the Worcester Lunatic Hospital (St 1870, c 238) (Coupon bonds for the Worcester Lunatic Hospital, 1875-1895 ((M-Ar)1536X)).  Registered bonds, issued 1875-1894 to redeem the certificates per St 1867, c 255 and valued at 1000, 5000, and 10,000 dollars, were due in 1895 or 1896 with interest paid at five percent per annum.
