Orders for bounties on silk, 1839-1846.

Scope and Content: Pursuant to successive laws passed by the Massachusetts General Court, 1835-1845 (effective 1835-1843, 1845-1848), producers of thrown or reeled silk (to 1839 only) and silk cocoons (from 1836) were paid a bounty by the Commonwealth.
