Engrossed resolves, 1836-2013.

Scope and Content: As custodian of the foundation records of Massachusetts, the state secretary is responsible for binding and maintaining engrossed copies of acts and resolves of the General Court (MGLA c 3, s 23). Since 1978 responsibility for binding has been carried out by the Regulations Division of the secretary’s office. Once binding is completed, the volumes are transferred to the Archives. Engrossed resolves are the original parchment resolves passed by the General Court. –For 1692-1783 engrossed resolves see: Massachusetts. Office of the Secretary of State.
