Scope and Content: The commission, established in 1981 by Governor Edward King (Exec Order 199), was responsible for planning the distribution of federal block grant funds among state agencies. The administrative files are the working papers of the task force. They include notices of appointments to the task force and related advisory committees; application requirements for grants awarded; implementation agendas and reports of advisory committees’ recommendations to the task force. Grants are in the areas of education; social service; health centers; maternal and child health care services; alcohol, drug abuse and mental health services; and preventative health and health services.
