Scope and Content: The Massachusetts Governor’s External Relations (formerly Correspondence) Office prepares gubernatorial citations to persons or organizations in recognition of outstanding service or deeds, for retirements, for birthdays of sixty-five or more years, and for wedding anniversaries of fifty or more years.  Series documents formation of the citation from a request form (name, occasion, date, mailing address, requestor–e.g. state legislator) and in some cases correspondence, to a photocopy of the citation itself, signed by the governor. –Series currently includes files from terms of Argeo Paul Cellucci (1997-2001) and Jane Swift (2001-2003).
