Scope and Content: The commissioner of the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) serves as a member of the Water Resources Commission, established by St 1956, c 620 to supervise and control the Division of Water Resources (then of the Department of Natural Resources, now of the Department of Environmental Management) and to coordinate the activities of federal, state, and other agencies in conservation, development, utilization, and disposal of water for preventing loss of life and damage to property by erosion, floodwater, and sediment in the watersheds of Massachusetts. The deputy commissioner of the MDC served on the commission as the representative of the commissioner. Copies of the minutes, compiled by the deputy, document the decisions of the commission.
